Hi, I'm Mark!
My name is Mark Hou, and I am currently a Junior at USC's Iovine & Young Academy! I am studying the intersection of design, technology, and business, and I am working towards a career in UI/UX Design, Design Engineering, and Product Management.
I originally grew up in a small town by Seattle, WA. From high school, I first learned more about the Digital Innovation field from my Mom, and throughout my first two years at San Diego State University, I learned more about UI/UX and Product Management.
After transferring to USC, I have been able to explore more of my interests within the intersection of design and product. Currently, I am working on my own startup project TimeLine, a productivity web app that streamlines personal long-term planning.
Excited to share more of my story and work through this portfolio, and always open to connecting and chatting about design, product, startups, innovation, or anything else!
My Story
Mercer Island
2019
I grew up in a small town by Seattle, WA. I attended Mercer Island High School (MIHS), where I first learned about the Digital Innovation field from my Mom. Working as a Senior Manager in T-Mobile's Digital Innovation Lab, she introduced me to UI/UX, Product Management, and the intersection of design, technology, and business.
I first began to explore tools like Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, to create my first projects. I started designing low-fidelity app prototypes, designing logos & graphics, editing videos, and developing my passion for creating.
